Subject:      oil pump gasket replacing

My tightening of my oil pump bolts did not eliminate my oil leak there.

What is entailed in replacing the gasket? And while there is it best to replace the oil pump with a new one?

I understand it is a big job requiring removal of the pulleys and belts. Hiring the VW dealer or independent mechanic is starting to add up and if it is easy enough to do I may just tackle it myself. More time than money as they say.
