I think someone mentioned this already, but ETKA requires quite a high display resolution, so an old PC may not work,

I run ETKA on my G3 Powerbook under Windows '95. Even the Powerbook will not display the resolution needed. You can fool Windows into displaying the higher resolution, but then your image is displayed off the screen. Since I'm running Virtual PC, I can go to the edge of the ETKA screen and drag it around to see the whole image. This is a very slow process but will work.

I used this at the VW dealer in Germany to lookup the part numbers I needed.

The dealer was real impressed, but not happy that I had installed the European ETKA program in English instead of German.
