Derek, As always you are the king of excellent info! Unfortunately my buddy has five kids and low funds especially after redoing the engine. He needs to get it done with as little outlay as possible. Good news is he is a vw mechanic that now manages the repair shop of a honda place... the money was to good. so if he can just get what he needs... All suggestions welcome.

thanks to all,

Mark

<< The best place to have a syncro tranny fixed is at Weddle Engineering which is located in Southern California.

They are kings of this. If you are in the pacific northwest, you can also try aatransaxle.com and if you are near Long Island, New York the man is Dennis Haynes.

The thing nowadays is to use FedEx Ground to ship these and the cost is not that great.

To contact weddle you can email info@2weddle.com or go to www.2weddle.com or to learn more about this and related topics click on the links below.

I advise you to avoid your local sources of transmission rebuild unless they are one of the above three parties.

Nice van too. Also need a plastic dash face for the 93 cabrio. Someone stole the crappy panasonic stereo out of it Friday night in my driveway. I would have given it to'em.... Go figure.
