I've seen stop leak plug the vent in the cap, causing the rad hoses to collapse when the engine cools. When it happened to me, cleaning the cap didn't help, I had to replace it. The directions say to flush the system after putting it in and running the engine to operating temp. (let it seal the leaks then getting rid of the excess). I've also herd that pepper works too, never tried it though.
