TURD the '82 westy from hell has run every sort of tire available. The research has shown that passenger tires do in fact explode from weak side walls. This will usually happen on I-355 in heavy morning rush hour traffic on cold windy raining days. The good news is that it will only happen if you either A) don't have a good spare; or B) the spare tire holder is rusted shut and the bolt is stripped from a very old brake fluid spill you never knew about.

If you can only afford 2 of the rather pricey tires, do the rears first. They take the brunt of the load and will be the ones to leave you stranded. Eventually get the fronts done too. The van is really a decent handling vehicle when it has the proper tires.
