Our PO did try it. There are two scorch rings on the underside of the cover, and it is mildly warped. She said, "it was a BIG mistake, never try it". The metal is too thin to disperse the heat properly.

She said the pancakes near the flame burned black, while those outside the flame area didn't cook at all. It is nearly the only blemish in our Westy, and you could tell she (PO) was really embarrassed about it.

...... Subject: burner cover

Chris,

you probably already know this but that burner cover is actually a griddle for pancakes and bacon and whatever else you ca think of....the drip pattern and hole that leads down to the sink basin are the clues.....I found out quite by accident.

Has anyone actually tried this? There is a big disclaimer above the stove saying that this is a lid only, not for cooking. I've figured it is so thin it would probably warp real good if heated, but it would be nice if it will actually work as a grill. As I asked, has anyone actually used it that way and what were the results?

Loren A. Busch I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I am not sure that you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.
