Except that much of the Newfoundland coastline is vertical... (!)

Still, a neat idea, if the rule is a real one. Is the 10m measured in horizontal distance? If so, I can picture a number of spots near St. John's where you could park within 10m of the coast--but 200 feet above it!

Is the unpaved road from the St. Lawrence (near Sept-Iles Que, IIRC?) to Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Labrador still "passable"?
