Check out this layman's explanation of the different fuels. I would not put Coleman fuel in my car.

I have Coleman stoves and lanterns specifically made to use gasoline to run on. Even Coleman recognizes that the fuels are different and incompatible fuels. If they are not interchangeable in something as simple as camping stoves...
