Vanogonites,

I am running 215/75R15 BFG AllTerrain AT/KO's in 15x6.5 rims with no problem. Quite a number of others are also. At least one person is using 235's on 6.5 inch rims.

If you check the specs for tires on the Tire Rack webpage, tirerack.com, you will find the narrowest and widest rim approved for each size tire and that virtually all 215's will work fine on even 6" rims, but certainly on 6.5" ones. Very few tires - only very wide and big ones have a 7" rim minimum - begins around 265.

Other websites might also have this info, but I know you can find it here for the brands they sell.

I even saw that Michelin 205/70R14 Rainforce MX4 can be run in the stock 14x5.5 rim. Haven't moved these from the alloy rims to the stock steel rim yet, but will do so soon.

Sam Walters
