tim, i had this same problem. turned out my regulator was frozen. i had to remove the regulator and motor from the door, crack the regulator case, and soak/tap/repeat until i could get the worm gear that drives the cable cog free from the lower of the two bushings that hold it in place. then emery paper both parts, grease like hell and button it all up. then back in the window. i had to work it over again (major pita!), and finally it works, but not as before. hence i have just gotten a good used one for each side...

you might also try contact cleaner on your switch...
