Check the spec on the drum per the Bentley (don't have one handy right now). For what ever reason (I suspect crappy self-adjuster/mount design) the rears are VERY sensitive to excess diameter. This will manifest itself as a soft pedal. If you adjust them up until they feel "tight" then the shoes will contact the drums at an odd angle, drag, overheat and provide NO braking.
