You can treat bare are painted surfaces to prevent rust----- An Acid etch zinc chromate primer, will stop just about any further corrosion--- It's kinda like zinc plating a fence post---- This Waxoyl product was developed in Sweden or one of the other northern high rust countries----from all claims it is simple to use, and long lasting rust preventative product--- I just ordered some for the inside of Mack doors, were they have a problem at the bottom of the door's where the pinch welds are, forming the inside and outside panels--- This stuff is supposed to flow in between the panels and stop further rust--- I'll be the guinea pig----and report the results of the freshly painted truck I just got done with--- Later,
Terry
E-mail message from David Paterson You can't treat bare or painted metal and expect it not to rust. They are very specific about this. |
