At least that was my experience when it became obvious that the screeching of my van was not merely worn v-belts howling in protest. Upon pulling the water pump, I found some nicely formed annular grooves about .060 inches deep cut into the engine case by the impeller of the junk pump. At first, I overlooked the pump as being the culprit because its seals never leaked a drop. I still pause to wonder in which restricted passageway the cuttings from this ad-lib machine work have chosen to reside. Rich |
