Subject: Coolant Hose Life Expectancy

Hoses exposed to road crud deteriorate faster, e.g. the long hoses under the passenger side. In my case, my 1987 has had only one hose go and that went because it rubbed against something. When I replaced it I surrounded it with white plastic corrugated 'bilge pump' hose. I'm going to do the same when I replace the long hoses under the van.
