Subject:      extended idling with a diesel?

During my winter camping expeditions this year I have been leaving my
diesel Westfalia idling for three or four hours in the evening while we
cook dinner and watch a DVD on the laptop.  This is done to keep the
camper warm and provide power for the lights, in dash MP3 player, and the
laptop.  Does anyone have any thoughts on reliability or maintenance
issues I should be considering?  (I don't camp around others, so I am not
annoying others with the racket...  I find the noise and rattle inside the
camper rather comforting :-\ )
