Just a side note...

If one is ever travelling on that I-70 stretch in Colorado (drove it a few times.. it sucks), or anywhere else...

carry a bunch of sleeping bags in the car!!!

Me and my wife actually drove for 2 days, getting from Santa Cruz back to Rochester, NY during an autumn storm... in our sleeping bags.

At that time it was NOT a Vanagon (rather a Buick) and not a standard either... but your passengers will love you for having the bags in there!!
