I don't doubt this. The instructions on the can - which becomes a pressure canister when you pump it up (it works like a deck/garden sprayer) by the way - say the contents should be warm before applying. I'll bet unless the contents are thoroughly heated that the viscosity would be too great to spray effectively. I will share, though, that in following the Land Rover list for several years, this stuff was both used and recommended in the DIY pump-up kit form - so while compressor spraying would no doubt be preferable, it must not be t-h-a-t impossible to use without a compressor based on the commentary I've seen.
