I have had a similar problem.  The hose that comes out of the front of the
engine to the heater had sprung a tiny pin hole leak.  As the engine reved
it would pee coolant on the distributor.  This was hard to see as the engine
would not start or if it did would run at idle but not rev.  Only when reved
up would it leak and spray the distributor.  Also check coil, ignition
module etc.  It is a spark problem, hard to find sometimes.  If you have
