Fuel here in Birmingham area where I buy mine jumped overnight from 97.9 by 6 cents in some stations and 9 cents in others for a high of $1.09.9.

From what I can tell so far the overnight increase occured all over the eastern and southeastern US. Gouge, Gouge, Gouge.

Also, recently banks in the Birmingham area have instituted a "service charge" of $3.00 to cash a check at the teller window. This applies if the check is on their bank from one of their account holders to you, but you, the possessor of the check, don't have an account with them. Gouge, gouge, gouge.

Electronic collections between banks still elecit no charges ---- yet. Just a matter of time before they find a way, I'm sure.
