OK, let's talk toilet seats - I've made a nifty one called "The condiment toilet" - basically free. I've talked about it on the list before, but here goes again, for the benefit of the newbies.... 1. Go to your favorite burger place, and ask for one of those large condiment pails used to hold pickles, mustard etc. You need the lid, too; 2. get the bottom part of a wooden toilet seat (the actual seat part); 3. cut away the interior of the pail's lid, leaving nothing but the part that snaps onto the pail - you're left with a "hoop"; 4. screw this hoop onto the under side of the toilet seat bottom; 5. voila, your toilet seat will now directly snap onto the pail - but it's best to put a plastic bag in the pail first, overhanging the top, and then snap on the toilet seat. This condiment toilet is really handy for those days when your spouse takes too long in your bathroom at home, and you really have to go. BTDT (That is, you don't have a second bathroom to use) Or when you're on the road and the next rest-stop is 85 miles away. It's free, which is also a good thing. Last time I posted info on the CT, it spawned a huge thread that went to alternative home-made toilets, bumper-dumpers, how cushy a toilet needs to be, recycling toilet paper etc. How tough their butt is because they used to "go" in some rough place... Bring it on! PS: If I die tomorrow, who knows, the condiment toilet may become acknowledged as my life's work. (He was a loving husband to Karen, a kind master to Sassy, and he earnestly and tirelessly worked to provide the world with homemade toilets for travelling) Better get cracking on something serious, or ensure I don't die, or stop posting to the list! ;>) Marshall Ruskin 84 Westy
