Subject: Missing Oil LED and *surprise*
Content-type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

So, i went to Radio Shack and bought several LEDS. They came two to a package so i now have two reds and two yellows (for future use?). Thanks to all who provided part numbers.

I read the Bentley on how to strip down the instrument cluster.

I pulled off the top of the dash and what did i see? Written big in pink paint on top of the speedo box: '87 VANAGON

Uh, funny, mine's an '89.

Well, i managed to replace the LED... it works like a champ. Even better it goes off right after the car starts up. But.... now i'm freaking out what other surprise lurk behind covers and such.
