Usual lurker here with some info from a Les Schwab Tire Center (don't know if they are a national chain or just out here in the west/northwest. Just had my snows swapped out for my summer tires (it's snowing now ...!) Anyway, FWIW, here's some specs on tires they carry that might be of interest: Product Code Description Remarks Revs/mi 01110234 185R-14/6 Jupiter SV-820 6 ply, 1450 lbs 809 01110235 185R-14/8 Jupiter SV-820 > 02114116 LT195/75R-14 Wildcat 6 ply, 1435 lbs 797 The tread on the Wildcat looked pretty aggressive. They also had in their catelog a similar 6 ply Wildcat "Touring" that probably rode quieter but it had a similar load rating of 1435 which I understand to be on the light side. The 8 ply Jupiter has two ply sidewalls. The most expensive was the Wildcat at $71 each which seems like a good deal. Ken Hartz 89 White Wolfie |
