None. Your unsprung weight will be two grams less on each side. The bolt is to keep the drum from falling off in the assembly plant...it is neither necessary nor sufficient to secure the drum in operation.

Clean the terminal at the sender, and the sender itself. Briefly ground the terminal -- gauge should shoot up. Don't leave it grounded, the gauge will burn. Check/clean the contact at the instrument panel connector -- make sure it sticks out enough to contact the circuit foil.
