Volks, I realize that people are trying to help out by posting info about vans on for sale that they see on the internet. Let me share my sentiments on this. I had been looking into this van that Joel posted about in Charlotte, sight unseen........knowing full well it is headed to the crusher or the auto auction and going to bring the particular dealer a couple hundred at best. Now, with this post to the list, his phone has been ringing off the hook, and he figures he has gold. It ain't. My point is, that those of us on the vanagon list are internet literate, and can find these things for ourselves by searching "vanagon" on autotrader, or epages, or whatever. If any of you have ever sold a car online yourself, you know that you get a lot of people "bottom-fishing" looking for a deal, and maybe one that really wants to buy. That is exactly what happened here. The few of us that are truly capable of rebuilding a 2.1 and putting in that van and either keeping it and or reselling it to keep the hobby alive(and/or another vw on the road) can check this one off. The fella won't budge off his $1400 now, and do not be surprised if the price does not go up.
