I had the radiator replaced - no change. Replaced the temp sender - no change. put in a lower temp thermostat - no change. Even replaced the whole instrument cluster - no change. The temp indicater needle still at about 3/4 on the guage. The interesting thing is my mechanic used an infared temp guage on the radiator hoses while it was idling at full operating temp and he said it was running at 180 degrees. These guages are supposed to be very accurate. I have learned to live with it over the last year - but I am anxious to hear of a solution. John McLean 87 Vanagon GL |
