Jim, Your fuel pressure should always be maintained after the engine is off. That's mostly why there is the fuel pressure regulator. It stops the gas returning to the tank when the engine vacuum stops (ie. engine off). By maintaining the fuel pressure the engine can acheive a faster startup.
