I had a similar concern about getting my Westy in the garage. I think 82" is pretty close to the actual height. What I had to do was to manually release the garage door to allow it to slide further up the track which enlarged the opening by a couple of critical inches. It's kind of a pain to have to get out of the van each time to open and close the garage door but it's worth it. It's also not my daily driver which makes it easier.
