Hey Phil,

I had the same issue when I replaced the antenna on our 82' gas westy. On
mine there was an aluminum sleeve that was attached to the base of the
antenna. In my attempt to remove this sleeve I mutilated it. The replacement
antenna that I bought from a list vendor did not have this sleeve. I was
able to get the new antenna on the bus but it does leak every now and then
in a driving rain. I did have to remove the fuse box and contort my
hand/wrist some to get to the underside of the antenna fitting but I did not
remove anything else that I recall. Please let us know what your experience
is when you get it done.
