Subject: VW Ultimate Trip Writing Contest!
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

I was looking through the latest copy of "Automobile" magazine last night and happened to notice an ad placed by VW about a contest they are sponsoring. The contest is:

Describe your ultimate driving trip idea in 150 words or less. The constraints on the trip would be that you would need to start and end the trip at the same point. That the trip can only be three days and two nights in length, and that the trip can only be in the continental US. The winner of this contest gets: Round trip air fare to and from the starting point of the trip. 3 day use of any 2002 VW of your choice (can you say 2002 EV!) 2 night hotel accomadations Use of a digital camera and log book to record your journey.

You also must understand that representatives from VW and Automobile magazine will be traveling with you (hopefully in other vehicles) and recording your trip for posterity (not to mention publicity).

I got excited about this contest as I would love to take a three day driving tour in a new EV multivan or camper. Some of you may remember that several years ago www.vanagon.com had a writing contest which was alot of fun. Perhaps some of you would like to share your ideas of the ultimate trip here on the list. I haven't made up my mind yet where my ultimate trip would be yet, but it has me thinking.

I just wanted to let folks know about this. If you do write an essay for the contest, how about posting it here to the list so that we can see what your thoughts are?

Have a great day!
