There are only two wiring harnesses, 80-84, and 85 on up, so if you have the Bentley, you will be able to clearly see the differences between your original and the one you wish to install. They are quite different IIRC. Some folks have said that the tach wire is already run in some vanagons, so check around for that before you run anymore wires.

I have the drawings showing the differences in the harnesses, but they came right out of the Bentley, so if you have that, you should be home free.

The connector plug comes apart quite easily so you can switch all the wires without having to cut and splice them.
