Your (bro-in-law) should know that there are colored refrigeration oils available that will detect the leaks that his propane flame apparatus can't find. Run a can of this nasty stuff first and replace all of the hoses with Teflon lined hose (what they use now). Replace all of the O rings in the system as well as the Dryer and any in-line strainers. A new compressor will top off your modifications. Although this total fix is expensive........ don't waste a penny on the system unless you're going to do it right as I described above.
