Has anyone ever stored a Vanagon for an extended period of time (at least a year)?  I am planning on taking a job outside the US and want to keep my van in storage until I get back.


I had planned on putting it up on stands and removing the tires to prevent dry rot.  Also, drain the gas tank (I figure a year is too long to use sta-bil).


I have heard of filling the engine completely with oil to prevent corrosion, but I wasn't sure if it was BS or not...
