What's all this wimpering and whining about eurovan prices? If you like the Eurovan and have the money, buy it and be happy.

"Are Vanagon owners cheap sons of b*tches, or what?" (insert Gilbert Godfrey voice above)

When I bought my 87 westy syncro used in 88 (w/only7Kmiles), I paid $17K. The owner showed me the dealer invoice/window sticker.

I don't recall the number, but it was ALOT of money in '87. (I would guess ballpark price of $24K-someone on this list must have records of dealer pricing for westies)

Is it true that Syncro/westy models were discontinued in the U.S. because the high prices turned away customers and the dealers were stuck with inventory that they couldn't move?

I loved my '76 bus and wish I had never sold it. The '87 Westy Vanagon sucks. All those high-tech bells and whistles that will break and make the dealers richer.

The '76 had more room in the upper bunk.

Paul Mayfield '87 westy
