Subject: Oil buzzer problem.
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Volks,

I had a lifter ticking this morning, so added a half quart of Marvel Mystery Oil to the motor (2.1L) 20 minutes of driving later, the lifter quieted down, but the darn oil buzzer kept coming on. Stopped, checked the level, fine, water temp normal, engine seemed fine on power (unlike a motor with low oil pressure) Kept doing it. If I went over railroad tracks, etc., it would go off...when I set the cruise at 3500 rpm, it would be on, and go off every so often for a minute or two then go out again..........

Stopped the van and disconnected the connector for the 2 brown oil sender wires in the engine bat. The darn thing still buzzed..How?

Now, I have not put a pressure gauge on it, but it seems like some sort of short, for if I understand the circuit, the senders ground the wire at low pressure turning on the light and buzzer. If there is no ground, how can the light and buzzer work?
