My experience is just the opposite. 1990 GL with 150K...runs great, no problems. 1992 GL with 135K ( bought it with 5K on it) ...runs great, no problems. Sometimes I get PO'd when trying to adjust/tighten the belts; other than that it's a simple, straight forward engine compared to the WBX. The water pump is a piece of cake compared to say... an Audi 90...YEOW!! But I must admit the newer 2.0 is a much better power plant. Obviously, YMMV. -- Stephen Chillicothe OH
