You need to mount the pocket back from the glove box about 6 inches. Just position it with the glove box opened and you will make no mistakes.

I did not do this when I mounted mine and had to take it all apart and reposition it. I did not see the warning on the vanagon.com site until after I made that mistake.

There are other good tips on the vanagon.com site also. For example how to avoid drilling through your wiring inside the door frame post if you install another grab handle.
