Tony -

It will plug right in just fine.  I've been running a 2.1 in my 84 Westy
since May of '97.  Check out my link on how to do it:

I currently have just about 65k on the engine.  #3 cylinder is getting a
bit weak (just happens I guess) and a water pump was replaced last year.
Other than that, it's been a good runner so far, no leaks oil or coolant.
