I've found the best place to get an inverter is at the truck stops. Best prices. To run a t/v and laptop, you need around 200 watts. This will draw about 20 amps so you need at least 12 gauge wire to feed it. A better option would be to get a 12 volt TV and 12 volt adapter for you laptop. This would be more efficient.

Hi,

I want to put a 12 v DC / 110 v AC converter in my Westy to run my laptop and a small TV, and need some advice.

a. What type of converter do I need? Amps, etc.

b. Where do I mount it?

c. Where's the best place to wire it in? The battery? The fusebox for the fridge, etc?

Thanks in advance.

Ric
