Hi All,

Looked at a 91 Westy today. Body is in pretty good condition, with one spot of rust about the size of a half-dollar plus a few scratches (needs washing/waxing).

Interior very clean, including appliances and upholstery.

Drove very well, including on the freeway. Idled perfectly.

Pop up top looked good, with a new seal, excellent canvas and screen.

Driver's seat R. arm rest was wobbly.

Current owner has used the cooking stove on propane and the fridge with electrical hookups (but not with propane). He said he tried fussing with it but didn't get it to run. It looked new and I doubt that it won't really start if tinkered with correctly.

--Color: maroon --Miles: 89,000 --AT, AC, Unworking power windows, power steering/brakes --Nice pioneer stereo, with CD --Owner thinks there might be a problem with the alternator, as he had to charge the battery this morning (he drives it very little: no time!!)

He's asking $12,000 but I'm sure he will go down in price. I'm going to pick it up at his house on Saturday morning and take it to a mechanic on Monday for a buyers inspection.

He really didn't try to build the camper up any; was actually a bit apologetic about the shape it was in: "not so bad considering the fact that it has lots of miles on it" kind of talk.

Opinions??

Is there anything specific I should ask the mechanic to check?

Thanks,

Dale
