The increase in horse power per point of compression is 4 percent with a water cooled engine so that does not work of you do the math thats a 4 hp gain on a 100 hp engine if you up the compression from 9 to 1 to 10 to 1 and the problems that would give you would not be worth the money you spent The gasket sets we get in the USA is a European set and if you opened one you would see that the intake and exhaust gaskets are different and that the gasket set is incomplete for the engines we have in the states. This tells me that the intake and exhaust systems are different in some cases like the 112 hp engine they have in some vans on the other side of the pond they also might not have a cat converter I'm told that's good for 5 to 8 percent increase in HP due to less back pressure I don't think they use a different cam or we would have seen one or two by now in the states and the profile would have been copied long ago and I would be using it B.
