In my experience, you can camp with the fridge running and use the stove intermittently (i.e. boiling water for coffee in the morning) for about 10 days before refilling. This seems fairly reliable and consistent. It is similar to what I see most people post. There are some "stick-on" things that are supposed to be able to tell you how much propane you have left by wetting them. No idea how or if they work. I used to worry about this, but since so few of our trips are even close to 10 days in duration (unfortunately) I just top it off before a long trip and never worry about it. Regards,
