Hello, Yet another newbie here, I've got a new (to me) 84 GL wagon that I'm trying to bring back from the dead. I've got two questions I couldn't find answers for in the archives. #1 My vanagon has the old style fuse block. Is it possible to replace it with a fuse block from a later model so that I'd be able to use the modern style of fuses? Is it worth the trouble? Has anyone else on the list done this? If it is possible, what model year is recommended/usable? #2 When I bought my van, the rear view mirror was dry rotted, so I got picked on up via ebay. The old "stalk" pulled out easily enough, but I can't get the new one (or the old stalk) back in. Is there some magic twisting motion that I'm not aware of? My vanagon has AC, which almost seems to be in the way somehow. Thanks in advance, Tom Corbitt |
