Our 1985 Transporter Pritschen a.k.a. "the silver bullet" is now riding on 235/65R17 104H Continental 4x4 Contacts mounted on 17x8 BBS wheels. Lots of load rating, 1980lbs/51psi max. Now we just need to do our VR6 conversion so the truck can get sustain to highway speeds with its new tall canvas canopy and the tall tires. It seems that the syncro.org "non-syncro" springs and new Bilsteins will keep our tires from meeting the fenders, but we'll probably have to get some syncro flares in an attempt to keep the fresh VW Reflex Silver paint intact. Oh, the tires were cheap...I believe Tire Rack had them on special for $81 apiece. The rest of the project is like the proverbial money pit, but we'll have the coolest pickup in town when it's all done. Jouko Haapanen

Noticeably more stable than the car tires that were on my 91. Firestone F-570 205/70R14 95T M+S 1521 lb 44 psi Larry A. |
