One thing you may want to check first:

Occasionally the nut that holds the oil cooler to the block, the one that is on the threaded tube that the oil-filter screws on to, will work loose and allow oil to leak out of the base. Tightening this to the proper torque will solve the problem.

I had the same problem and it turned out that the only problem was that the bolt had loosened.
