Well, I took my new (to me) Westy in for a thorough going over. The news was
pretty much as I expected, very solid engine, most everything else is a bit
sketchy.

The owner gave me a smorgasbord of tasty repair items to pick from. This
first round will total about $600. Not all that bad considering the laundry
list of items I went for. Yes, several of them I could do myself, but I live
in an apartment and have no space to store stuff or work on the vehicle
until summer when I can freeload a friend's farm.

So, I'm already planning ahead for round two - tires and shocks. I'm
planning on the D rated Yokohamas from TireRack.com. But what about shocks?
Is there *that* much ride difference between the Bilsteins and the BOGE's?

How about the beefy KYB Monoshock? Or should I stick with KYB Gas-adjust?

Then there's the Brazillian cheapies.... ah, so many choices.

Opinions, anyone?
