Hi Rico,

I spent part of the morning at a junkyard and found an ECU (for $15). (This was a real junkyard, Packards, Nashes, Studebakers, Crosleys, etc.)I will make the swap later and report.

If Packards, Nashes, Studebakers & Crosleys had ECUs, they would have been as large as a refrigerator(then AKA an "ice box") and towed behind the Packard......on a two axle trailer. Junkyards are an "UNFIT" resting place for Vanagons! Our dearly departed should be in an ISO 900X, EPA approved auto recycling center where valuable ECUs are removed correctly, labeled & stored while all toxic fluids are drained and disposed of responsibly((especially R12 refrigerant). This would not impact prices as "real" Junkyard gurus charge as much or more as responsible auto recyclers. "Real" junkyards should be shunned unless you enjoy rolling the dice!

Regards, John
