Greetings mailing list,

It has been many moons since my last post, but rest
assured I set aside the great deal of time necessary
to sort through and review the post.  I have been
terribly busy what with the recent move to the States,
overhaul of the vanagon, and working full time to fund
the latter.

The engine is nearly completed, and like the wild
caribou, will be returning to familiar ground soon to
breed a new litter of mechanical misadventures.  The
interior, having been stripped by yours truly, is back
on the road to recovery.  I've managed to remove all
of the "misplaced marijuana" and will feel much better
upon my next confrontation with the Canadian/US
border.

I do have a few questions however.  Has anyone in the
group imported a VW or any older vehicle from Canada
to the States?  I also would like to know what I will
have to do to install a speedometer of Imperial
measurement whereas the current one only concerns
itself with distances of a metric fancy.  And lastly,
did the vanagons come stock from the factory with wood
on the floor of the passenger area?

That should hold me over for a bit.  Thanks in advance
for any information provided.
