Hi all


A friend's '85 Weekender developed terrible valve (?) noise, problems
running and exhaust that has an unburned gas odor. There is also traces of
oil on the bottom of the engine.


Can anyone point me to a decent mechanic in Seattle.  I sent Tim the list
from the vendor page of Vanagon.com, but still wanted to get any other
possibilities.


Any thoughts on what it could be?  The driver indicacted that the noise came
on suddenly.


Any help would be appreciated.
