I've been having an issue with inconsitent idling.  I have been slowly tracking it down.  First was a crack in the exhaust, fixed.  Then I chased down grounds and repaired or replaced all the connections.  Cleaned all other connections that I could get my hands on.

After all that, I still have issues.  This weekend, I opend the AFM to check it out.  Although the carbon track looked OK, except for a couple very small worn spots at one end of the track, I decided to try and move the card so the meter would track on a non-worn area of the carbon.

But, After that, it ran worse.  Stalling, hesitation, inconsistent idle (high, low, high again), and even back-firing through the intake we I give it gas.

The only thing I can see wrong is that there is a small chip in the board on one corner, but that was there to begin with.  I tried moving the card back to it's original spot, but still no dice.

So, before I get ready to cough up the bucks for another one, any other ideas?

At this point, I have to admit that, besides being stumped, that I'm feeling pretty dumb.  Especially when dumb=money spent...
