IMHO, I worry LESS about items that can be "fixed" and MORE about items that can't be fixed. The motor etc can be fixed, but try and get a new fridge, or new chairs or "good" clean interior or rear bed etc. Body work that be "gotten at" is easy and not much of a concern to me, but rust in the seams is a devil to get at and fix. etc. So if I were you (IIWY ?) I'd concentrate on the NON-fixable stuff to see if you can live with it. New, or rebuilt motors are easy (think Boston Bob). You have nothing to lose if you put in an offer for what you feel the van is worth, but in reality you will end up paying a bit more for for it. Remember that if the van was in perfect working order it would be going for more than $12,000. m2cw Malcolm
